Editorial Team & Process
Transparency about who runs DoctorReviews.in and how we verify medical content. We do not name fictitious clinical reviewers, inflate our team size, or claim qualifications we do not have.
Who runs DoctorReviews.in
DoctorReviews.in is a small, independent editorial team based in India. We launched the verified-review platform in May 2026 and are growing in stages — adding doctors, hospitals, blog content and verification depth incrementally rather than launching with inflated claims.

Honest disclosure: We do not yet have in-house clinical reviewers on staff. Medical content is researched from authoritative public sources (listed below) and clearly labelled as general information — never as personalised medical advice. We are actively looking for qualified Indian medical professionals interested in becoming paid editorial reviewers; if that is you, please write to editor@doctorreviews.in.
How we verify doctor profiles
- NMC public register cross-check. Every doctor profile marked ✓ NMC Verified on DoctorReviews.in is checked against the National Medical Commission's online register at nmc.org.in. The green ✓ NMC Verified badge on a profile means we have confirmed the doctor's registration number and council.
- Public-record bios only. Doctor profiles use information from hospital websites, Padma Awards directorate (padmaawards.gov.in), professional society directories (FOGSI, IAP, AIOS, etc.), and mainstream press archives. Where we cite a Padma award or society role, the underlying source is independently verifiable.
- No private medical data. We do not collect, store or display doctors' private contact details, personal addresses, or unpublished credentials.
How we verify hospital profiles
- Accreditation cross-check. NABH and JCI accreditation status is taken from the official NABH and JCI databases.
- Hospital-published facts only. Bed counts, specialities, addresses and emergency lines are taken from each hospital's official website. Users are explicitly asked to confirm details with the hospital before traveling.
- No fake review counts. Review counts shown on hospital pages reflect actual reviews submitted and moderator-approved — currently 0 across all hospitals because the platform is new and we have not seeded any fake reviews.
How we verify patient reviews
- Human moderation on submitted reviews. No review goes live until a human moderator reviews it for spam, defamation, or privacy violations. Straightforward submissions are usually handled quickly, but complex reviews can take longer.
- Optional ✓ Verified Visit badge. Reviewers may upload a prescription or consultation bill as proof of consultation. After moderator confirmation, the proof file is permanently deleted after moderation. The badge then appears on the published review. Reviews without proof are still published; they just do not carry the badge.
- Phone hashing. Phone numbers are stored only as keyed HMAC hashes (never plain text). The hash is used to detect duplicate submissions and prevent spam (max 3 reviews per number per 24 hours).
- No pay-to-play. Doctors cannot pay to remove reviews or boost rankings. The only legitimate doctor-side response is the right of reply — a moderator publishes it below the review, never in place of it.
How we write health content
Blog articles on DoctorReviews.in fall into three categories:
- Trend / news posts (e.g. Nipah Kerala 2026, monsoon diseases, RBI MPC reaction): sourced from mainstream press, official government bulletins (IMD, MoHFW, WHO, NHA), and clearly cited.
- Verification guides (e.g. NMC verification, how to spot fake reviews): describe the platform's own methodology — we do not claim medical authority.
- Patient cost / decision guides (e.g. IVF cost, knee replacement, cataract surgery): figures are drawn from published hospital websites and reputable third-party data sources, dated and updated when revised.
Every article carries a publication date, a "Last updated" date when refreshed, and a clear medical disclaimer that the content is general information and not a substitute for consultation with a qualified physician.
Corrections & complaints
If you spot a factual error, please write to editor@doctorreviews.in. We aim to investigate and either correct, update, or publicly explain our decision within 7 working days. For doctor profiles, we will publish a correction with the date of change.
If you are a listed doctor and want a review removed: please refer to our review removal policy. Reviews are removed only if defamatory, in breach of medical privacy, spam, or a paid sabotage attempt.
